Annie will be entering her fifth year at St. Clare. She was the Youth Librarian for the Town of Vail Library for 10 years and an Early Childhood Director for 4 years. Annie enjoys the spirit of the youth and strives to teach to the individual. She looks forward to the school year and all it has to offer. Annie is married to Todd Schmidt for 10 years and has two Children, Marti, and Mac, who are both enrolled at St. Clare’s. Their dog Jet Screamer stays at home with their 2 cats in Sweetwater, CO. |

Mary is in her first year as a second grade teacher at St. Clare’s but not new to the valley. She has lived in Vail for 30 years with her husband Chris and their two sons, Nathan and Joshua and their dog Crystal. Mary has been a tax accountant and practioner, and for the last eight years Director of Children and Youth Ministries. In 2007 Mary received her Master of Arts in Christian Education. She is currently certified as a catechist in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Catholic faith formation program, for 3 to 6 year olds. She is in the process of certification for 6 to 9 year olds. She is an avid seamstress who has made numerous wedding dresses and quilts. She also enjoys camping and hiking |

Karen is a certified SCUBA Diver and trains her family dog, Kenobi for agility and obedience, earning him the title Champion Dog. She has been married to Drew Werner for 22 years and has two children, Kyle and Ryan. |

Linda has been an elementary teacher for 10 years. In addition to being an elementary classroom teacher, she has taught reading and technology. Linda believes her mission is to create an environment where learning is valued and each child feels loved, inspired and truly cared about. St. Clare’s motto is "Spirit of One." Each child is unique with different strengths and weaknesses. Linda strives to make each child succeed in a safe environment where he or she can take risks and not worry about making mistakes. Linda will teach the curriculum in a way that is fun yet challenging. Linda always goes back to the question "How would I want my sons to be treated". In addition to teaching the three r's, Linda supports each child's journey in becoming a kind, caring member of society who loves learning and knows how special they are and how much God loves them.
Linda is married and has two grown sons. She has lived in Eagle County for thirty years. She loves traveling, spending time outdoors, rafting, canoeing, camping, skiing, and biking. |

| Carol has been a Catholic school teacher for nine years and is a founding faculty member of St. Clare of Assisi. She also taught in the Eagle County Public School system for three years as a Gifted and Talented teacher at Eagle Valley Middle School, and a Title 1 Reading teacher at Gypsum Elementary. While earning her degree in French Literature she spent her junior year of college in Parish, France, studying at the University of Paris, Sorbonne. A Colorado resident since 1980, Carol continued her education at Western State College in Gunnison in order to earn her Elementary Education Certification and license. She loves skiing, hiking, reading, and Spending time with her family, her husband Gary, daughter Kate, age 24, and son Michael, age 20. |

| Raised in the Catholic school system, Dana has returned to her roots by joining the SCA family. Past teaching experience includes science within ECSD and algebra at Vail Christian High School. Currently certified in secondary science, Dana is pursuing a second endorsement in math by CDE. Having relocated from Niagara Falls in ‘94, Dana has completely adopted a Colorado lifestyle. She takes pleasure in skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, gardening, fishing, and yoga. |

This is Dawn’s fourth year at St. Clare of Assisi School. She holds a professional teaching license from the Colorado Department of Education and two Bachelor of Arts Degrees from Colorado Christian University. Dawn holds a Level I Certification in the Kodaly Method of music education, and she is currently working on her Masters in Music Education at Colorado State University. Dawn is married to Joe Vallejos, and her daughter, Shannon, is a graduate of St. Clare of Assisi School. Dawn’s hobbies include playing the flute in the St. Mary’s choir, hiking, fishing, and snowshoeing.

Sam Mizwicki, Art Teacher: Sam is starting her first year at St. Clare. Sam graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Art Education for Kindergarten through 12th grade. She has her Indiana teaching license and graduated with high honors. Sam has lived in the Valley for 4 years, moving from Norwest Indiana, just outside of Chicago.She spends her time making and enjoying art, hiking, traveling, snowshoeing, and attempting to surf. Sam is looking forward to building up the art program at St. Clare! |

Audrey comes to St. Clare of Assisi with 7 years teaching experience and a Masters in Multicultural Literature from University of San Francisco and degrees in marketing and international relations from Xavier University. She has taught in Campeche, Mexico; San Francisco, CA; Chicago, IL; Minturn, CO as well as Colorado Mountain College in Edwards, CO. Throughout her teaching experience, Audrey has developed a pedagogy which values differentiated, holistic, and nurturing education.

| Amanda has been a Catholic school teacher for 8 years and is a founding faculty member of St. Clare of Assisi. She played 4 years collegiate soccer at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in education for grades first-eighth. Amanda moved to the Vail Valley in 2000 to pursue a career in teaching. She loves spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, skiing, and playing soccer. This summer Amanda married Dave Painter in Vail, Colorado. |

Jean had been an educator for 13 years. She has been with St. Clare of Assisi School for seven years. She taught the fourth grade for four years and now is in her second year as Outdoor Educator and assistant in the third and fourth grades science, math, and Colorado history classes. For several years, she was the manager of Vail and Beaver Creek Resorts Cross Country Ski Schools. She created the Beaver Creek Cross Country Ski Center and Mc Coy Park track system and was a member of PSIA Examining Board for Nordic Instructor/Guide Certifications. Presently, she is a member of the Tenth Mountain Division Hut Association Board. She was a backpack guide and team course facilitator for Meet the Wilderness for 28 years. Jean is a Colorado native who has traveled to all 50 states and several countries on five other continents. |

This is my second year as the Literacy Coach with St. Clare of Assisi Parish School. I hold a professional teaching license from St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vermont. A Boston native, I have lived in Colorado 25 years and enjoy reading, skiing, wakeboarding, climbing and cooking. Whenever I have free time, I try to travel and have been to five of the seven continents. I look forward to expanding my reading repertoire with the students of St. Clare. |
